The Battle Mountain girls soccer team was in action at home twice last week against Pershing County and the Lowry JV. The Lady Longhorns met up with the Lady Mustangs on Wednesday, Sept. 21, and lost 3-0 in the Northern 3A contest. Pershing County scored a pair of goals in the first 40 minutes to take control of the match that was played in rainy and windy conditions. The Lowry JV made the short trip from Winnemucca last Saturday and the match ended in a 1-1 tie. The Lady Bucks led 1-0 at halftime, with the Lady Longhorns scoring the tying goal in the second half. Battle Mountain travels to Fernley today (Wednesday) for a 3 p.m. match with the Vaqueros. Battle Mountain is back on the road to face Dayton on Saturday at 11 a.m.
