Obituary: Robert Lee Pope

Robert Lee Pope passed away on September 4, 2016 in Reno, NV at the age of 58. He was the husband of Barbara Pope. They shared 16 years of marriage and have two sons, Nash and Cole Pope.

Robert was born on December 23, 1957 in Lancaster, CA to Bud and Patsy. His family moved to Nevada when he was three years old. He attended school in Round Mountain, NV through the eighth grade. He graduated from Tonopah High School before completing two years of technical school in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to the training he received in school, his father taught him to drive heavy equipment.

Robert was a jack of all trades. He worked in the mining industry, construction, truck driving and raising his family. He built his home in Gillman, NV and later shared his life with Barbara and their sons in McDermitt, NV. Robert will be remembered for his love of God, his love of his family and his love of the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Pope and brother, Lester Pope. He is survived by his mother, Patsy Young of Newcastle, CA; his sister, Cheryl Williams of Shasta City, CA; his brother, Doug Pope of Tonopah, NV; his nieces, Christina Pope, Debra Santiago Braga and Samantha Boyer; his nephew Gerrid Pope.

Celebration of life will be held at Quinn River Baptist Fellowship in McDermitt, NV on Saturday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m.
