Obituary: Edith Brush Marcuerquiaga

Edith Brush Marcuerquiaga 89 passed away on October 21st 2016. She was born in Winnemucca , Nevada on January , 23rd 1927 to Edwin and Edna Brush.

Edith grew up in Pardise Valley , Nevada sharing her childhood with her brothers and sisters. She moved to Winnemucca, Nevada in her teen years to take care of her beloved Grandmother Grisbee. Edith worked as a telephone operated for Bell Tell.

One of Edith’s many loves was music. While she was playing the piano and singing in a little honky tonk tavern in Orovada, Nevada, In walked the Buffalo Boys, better known as the Marcuerquiaga brothers. There was a long legged-good looking cowboy that had his sights on Edith. Guess it was love at first sight. Julian and Edith were married November 30th 1946.

Edith loved the simple things in life. Her home, flowers, friends and family always came first. In her later years, she enjoyed cooking for the crew at Alder Creek Ranch.

Her love for music would pass the time as she would hear a song on the radio and by that afternoon she would be playing it on her organ or her squeeze box as she called her accordion. Edith embraced the little things in life. She always had a special place in her heart for little kids and older people.
