Battle Mountain’s Lynzee Devlin and Adriene Burkhart took part in the NIAA 2A State Championships at Incline Village on Monday, Oct. 10, and Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Devlin finished 21st overall with rounds of 161 and 156 for a 317. Burkhart placed 28th with scored of 178-179 for a 357. The Lady Longhorns did not have enough players for a team score.
Incline continued its dominance of the league and ran away with the state championship. The Highlanders shot scores of 453 and 419 to finish at 872. Sierra Lutheran was a distant second at 499-457-956. West Wendover (961) was third and Wells (1,187) and Yerington (1,249) were fourth and fifth, respectively. Round Mountain finished sixth at 1,413.
Incline’s Kennedy Cohn was the low medalist and state champion at 178. She had rounds of 90 and 88. Teammate Christine Schwartz was second at 183, after scores of 95 and 88.
West Wendover’s Sarah Isaac was third at 184 and Wells Kaitlyn Alton (210) and Mountain View’s Kristine Horita (213) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
