Obituary: Linda Gayle (Knox) Cole

Linda Gayle (Knox) Cole of Winnemucca, Nevada, passed away on September 22, 2016 at the age of 69. Linda passed away peacefully at home from an apparent heart attack while sitting in her favorite chair.

Linda was born December 5, 1946 in Colstrip, Montana to the late Robert Knox and the late Nettie (Noyes) Knox of Casper, Wyoming. She was the middle girl of three girls. She is survived by her older sister, Joann (Schulenberg), her younger sister, Margaret (Koontz) both of Casper, Wyoming, her daughter Sheila (Gregory) of Colorado Springs, her son, Patrick, of Kingsman, Arizona, nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Linda graduated from Colstrip High School in 1963 and married Robert (Bob) Cole on December 29, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the years since, she worked as both a school bus driver (for 19 years for Lyman School District) and as a line cook, most recently with the Winnemucca Inn.

Linda’s hobbies included reading, square dancing, and all handicrafts, especially knitting and cross stitching.

Linda is to be cremated and her ashes will later be combined with those of her husband’s and they will be scattered in both Wyoming and South Dakota. No memorial service is planned at this time.

Linda was predeceased by her mother, Nettie, her father, Robert, and her husband, Robert.
