Lowry High School’s Shelby Garrison was named to the Northern 3A girls soccer second team as a forward. The all-league teams are selected by the league’s coaches. Garrison had a team-high 10 goals and four assists for the Lady Bucks.
South Tahoe’s Annie Brejc was named the Player of the Year and Spring Creek’s Kami Crowe was chosen as the Coach of the Year.
Truckee and South Tahoe dominated the first-team choices. The Wolverines had four players, including, Ava Seelenfreudn, Chloe Murphy, Marlena Montano and Lydia Christian.
Truckee defeated Western to win the 3A state championship.
South Tahoe had five players, Ana Garcia, Jennifer Valdivia, Samantha Frates, Claudia Jensen and Brejc.
The team was rounded out by North Tahoe’s Maile Markham, Spring Creek’s Kaitlyn McLeod and Natalie Billin and Elko’s Lauryn Drake.
Joining Garrison on the second team were Zareli Villa, Sophie Curtis, Izzy Abarno, Olivia Koster and Heather Pendleton (Truckee); Bailey Segers (South Tahoe); Magnolia Neu and Talia Garcia (North Tahoe), Kassandra Luna (Incline); Angie Hurtado (Sparks); Shannon Hatch (Spring Creek) and Savannah Sweeney (Churchill County).
Lowry’s Alyssa Campbell and Audrey Snow were named to the honorable mention squad. Snow had two assists and two goals. Campbell was the leader on defense with 12 steals.
The honorable mention team was rounded out by South Tahoe’s Maria Martinez, Emma Bayberry and Lillie McGuire; Churchill County’s Adelle Brown and Melinda Fegundes; Elko’s Taylor Lurz and Natalia Avila; Incline’s Raquel Oliver and Madino Wallner; Spring Creek’s Kate Meisner and Bailey Powell and Truckee’s Amber Simonpietri.
