The Winnemucca Youth Football League took players from its various teams in the league to create a 16-man squad for the inaugural Battle Born Classic this weekend in Elko. Winnemucca will be part of a three-team tournament, with Elko and Spring Creek also playing. A team for Idaho was also set to play, but that squad had to pull out of the classic. Winnemucca plays at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 4:30 p.m. The championship is set for Sunday. The hope is to make the Battle Born Classic an annual event and possibly move it throughout northern Nevada.
