Members of the Humboldt County Rodeo Club made the long trip to Alamo in southern Nevada last weekend for third stop on the Nevada High School Rodeo Association schedule.
In Saturday’s performance, Quint Bell turned in a third-place finish in steer wrestling with a time of 26.750 seconds and was fifth in cutting with 66 points..
He was fifth in tie-down roping at 17.520, while his younger brother, Cade Bell, was seventh in tie-down roping with a time of 20.140.
On the girls side in the first performance, Allyssa Nimmick was third in pole bending with a time of 22.136. Bailey Reynolds was 10th in breakaway roping at 12.070 and Audrey Van Buren was 12th in barrel racing at 19.280 and she finished in 16th in pole bending in a time of 24.080. Marie Curtis placed 27th in goat tying with a time of 20.790.
In Sunday’s performance, Dusty Robertson was 10th in breakaway roping at 4.40 and VanBuren was 16th in the event at 5.46. VanBuren added an 11th-place outing in pole bending with a time of 23.687 and Nimmick was 20th at 27.553. Robertson placed 12th in goat tying at 9.450, Curtis finished 16th in barrel racing at 19.533 and Quint Bell was sixth in cutting with 65 points.
As of the first six rodeos, Chris Gleason leads the bull riding standings and Seth Duncan was second in bareback riding. Julianne Montero is third in barrel racing, fourth in goat tying and 11th in breakaway roping.
Quint Bell is currently second in steer wrestling and Danyelle Draper is eighth in reined cow horse.
The final fall rodeo of the season is Nov. 18-20 in Las Vegas.
