Obituary: Deanna Marlene Simmons

Deanna Marlene Simmons was born on October 23, 1954 to Jack and Theda Walker in Hill City, KS
In her career Deanna was determined to make a mark in a man’s world; she was inspired to lead and pave the way for future women in mining.  Little did she know that her goals and ambitions would lead her to find the love of her life and her soul mate Don Simmons.
Don and Deanna were married on February 1, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV.  This union of vows created what Deanna would always say was her greatest legacy and treasure with the blended family of 5 loving and amazing children.  It is with the greatest amount of sorrow that the family announces her peaceful passing away at her home in Winnemucca on March 12, 2016.  She died peacefully without suffering that evening next to her soul mate as she would have wanted it.
Deanna touched many lives; everyone who knew her had the pleasure of being blessed by a compassionate loving individual possibly even healed with her new found Dottera oils.  She absolutely enjoyed her position as Office Manager at Nevcan; it gave her a tremendous amount of pleasure knowing she was part of the team that built this company.
Deanna will be deeply missed by her Husband Don and her 5 children Donnie Simmons; Fred Simmons; Chad Simmons; Shelly McVay and Joyce Huet.  She will also be missed by her 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Deanna is survived by her two loving sisters Diane Farr and Denise Smith.
Nobody could ever forget the love she felt for her pets; to Deanna they were “her babies” and she cared for them all.  We love you and miss you already; please continue to watch over us all.
There will be a celebration of life at 1:00 PM Saturday March 19 at Grass Valley Baptist church for all friends and family.
In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to the breast cancer foundation; to make donations please log onto “give.bcrfcure.org/deannasimmons” and follow directions.
