BMHS’ Price receives national award

Battle Mountain High School senior Jaren Price has been named as a winner of the Burlsworth Character Award for the 2015 football season.

Price was nominated and selected for his ability to consistently put his teammates ahead of himself and his commitment to give back to his community through volunteering with the junior football league.

“Jaren is an outstanding young man who serves as a great role model for the people in our community. He is a hardworking, humble giving person who brings out the best in those around him,” said BMHS football Coach Mitch Domagala.

Price was awarded a commemorative certificate as well as a copy of the biography book of Brandon Burlsworth.

The award is named in honor of former University of Arkansas offensive lineman Brandon Burlsworth, considered by many as the greatest walk-on in college football history. The story is the subject of the movie “Greater” that will be released in theaters this summer.
