Donna Marlene Rogers, 83, passed away at her home in Winnemucca, NV on March 6, 2016, losing her battle with cancer.
Donna was born on April 22, 1932 in Ukiah, CA to LeRoy and Delsie Sharp. She was married to Gerold Rogers in Placerville, CA. In 1986 the family moved to Winnemucca.
She received an Associate of Arts from Sierra College and her BA from California State University in Sacramento, CA, in the field of Anthropology. Donna worked at the Winners Casino as Security Dispatcher for ten years and at the Winnemucca Food Bank for twelve years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Winnemucca. Donna was an avid oil painter and gardener. She enjoyed playing the Mexican train game, going on adventures with her daughter, spending time with family members and helping her community.
Donna is survived by children Lee Rogers of Winnemucca, Christine Oelze of Placerville, CA and Daniel Rogers of Winnemucca. Her grandchildren Trudie, Amy and Kathlynn Oelze: Kenny, Wayne, Cory and Rhea Rogers; and Patrick, Elisha and Beth Rogers. She has fourteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the team from Humboldt Volunteer Hospice of Winnemucca, Genesis of Winnemucca, Chris at Olson’s Pharmacy and all of her church family and friends and family members, and to our Lord and Savior for making her way home peaceful.
Services for Donna will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 5130 E Palisade Dr. in Winnemucca on Saturday March 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm.
