Goddard signs with Jamestown

Battle Mountain High School senior Calvin Goddard has signed a national letter of intent to play college football for NAIA member Jamestown University in Jamestown, N.D.

Goddard contributed on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball for the Longhorn football team this past fall. He will serve as a wide receiver in the Jimmies offensive scheme over the next few years.

The Jimmies went 4-6 a season ago and were 3-3 in the NorthStar Athletic Association.

The NSAA includes Jamestown, Dakota State, Dickinson State, Mayville State, Valley City State and Waldorf College.

Last year there were five players from Nevada on the team. Three of those were from Las vegas and one each from Fallon and Gardnerville.

Josh Kittell is starting his second season as head coach of the Jimmies.

“Calvin has shown a knack for getting open and creating big plays. This will make him a big contributor on the college level,” said BMHS football coach Mitch Domagala.
