LAS VEGAS (AP) — Candidates can start filing to get their names on the Nevada ballot.
The election filing period for non-judicial offices started March 7 and lasts through March 18. Some people have already announced a bid for an office, but need to formally file during the two-week window to make it official.
Candidates seeking office in a district that's entirely contained in one county must register with their county clerk. All others register through the Nevada Secretary of State's Office.
Candidates must appear in person to pay a filing fee, show identification and complete paperwork.
The primary election is scheduled for June 14, and the general election is set for Nov. 8.
