Randy Shane Ruggera, 58, a longtime resident of Winnemucca, NV, passed away suddenly at home on Allen Rd February 18, 2016.
Randy was born September 9, 1957 to his parents Kenneth and Edith Ruggera in Gunnison, CO. Randy was a graduate of Gunnison High and attended Western State College University. Amongst his travels from Gunnison, CO to Clear Lake, CA to Middletown, CA and ending in Winnemucca, NV along the way he met his loving wife, Shirley (Lavato) Ruggera, who captured his heart, and made a home for his family.
Randy was a dedicated and hard worker for his family. While living in Colorado he worked for Home Stake for 4 years and was given the opportunity to transfer to Home Stake in California for another 12 years. When his time was complete in California he made his way to Winnemucca, NV working for Newmont Mining as a Driller/Blaster for over 19 years until his passing.
Randy was a member of the Episcopal and Catholic church. He was also a high school secretary.
He had many hobbies when he wasn’t falling mountains. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, archery, rock collecting, 4-Wheeling, photography, music, movies and mountain climbing.
Randy is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Ruggera; his son, Jason Shane Ruggera; his mother, Edith Ruggera; his brothers, Kim and Lance Ruggera; his sister, Charmaine (Jeff) Ruggera-Clark; and his nieces and nephews, Shirley’s father Lloyd Lavato and her uncle Rick Miller.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ruggera; and his aunt, Sophie Ruggera;
A memorial fund account for the Ruggera family has been setup at Wells Fargo Bank for any donations.

A memorial service for Randy Ruggera will be held at the Episcopal Church in Gunnison, CO with burial at the Crested Butte cemetery in Crested Butte, CO.
