The Battle Mountain 9-10-year-old Little League All-Stars will be traveling to Spring Creek this week for the District 3 Tournament.
Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek) is the host and Winnemucca, High Desert (Fernley), White Pine (Ely), Silverada (Dayton), Elko and Walker River (Yerington) are also competing in the week-long event.
Battle Mountain takes on Walker River at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Ruby Mountain and Silverada, Elko and Fernley and Winnemucca and White Pine are the other first round match-ups.
If Battle Mountain defeats Walker River, they will play either Ruby Mountain or Silverada at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. If Battle Mountain loses, they will play on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Battle Mountain is managed by Josh Tingey and coached by Manuel Andrade. The roster includes Daniel Andrade, Rayden Broadway, Raythen Broadway, Liam Bundrock, Eric Fernandez, Zayne Hall, Gage McCracken, Anthony Natoli, Aden Payzant, Jacob Perrone, Josiah Sims, Ledger Soule and Kohen Tingey.
The tournament runs through next week with the championship game set for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29. If needed, a second title game will take place at noon.
The winner advances to the state tournament in Elko.
