Tuesday’s Winnemucca City Council agenda starts with an opportunity for public comment on any item not on the agenda. That’s followed by consideration of the minutes and warrants for approval.
Proclamations and awards include:
• A certificate of appreciation to the Rotary Club for the work at the Winnemucca cemetery.
• Recognition of the 86th anniversary of the Lion’s Club
• 34-year service award for Frank Maestrejuan, who is retiring
The main agenda includes:
• A request to reduce a required yard setback from ten feet to five feet on 5052 Jacobsen Drive.
• Introduction of an ordinance and scheduling a future hearing for a requested zone change from single family residential 6,000 square foot minimum lot size with a manufactured home overlay to a mobile home park at 4395 Grass Valley Road.
• Request for temporary street closure of Winnemucca Blvd. from Model T Motel parking lot to East Winnemucca Boulevard for the Silver State Rodeo Parade on Saturday, July 2.
• Request for waiver of golf course tournament fees for the fifth annual Louie Peraldo Memorial Golf Tournament on Sat. Sept. 17.
• Request for waiver of golf course fees for the third annual Joshua Rose Memorial Golf Tournament on Sat. July 16.
• Request to close Bridge Street from Wmca. Blvd. to Fourth Sat. Sept. 3 for Downtown Business Association Street Dance and on Sat. Oct. 1, for Chili Cook-off.
• Request to use city streets for the “Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” event Fri. July 5 from 5 to 7.
• Request for city administration to transfer general fund contingency funds to the public safety ($25k), judicial fund ($1k), public works fund ($24k) and the recreation fund ($40k).
• BLM is requesting a 5-year extension of their lease on the Dispatch Center Building at the Winnemucca Airport.
• Presentation of the next two fiscal years’ collective bargaining contracts for city employees and Winnemucca Police.
• Presentation of position and salary range table
• Bid review and contract award for 2016 cemetery road reconstruction project.
