Andrew Edward Stewart, 63, of Elko, passed away June 1, 2016 of a heart attack.
Andy was born March 17, 1953 to Gerald Edward and Betty Wilson Stewart in Superior, Arizona. The family moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada in 1965. He graduated from Battle Mountain High School in 1972, after which he completed studies from Arizona Automotive Institute Trade School in Phoeniz, Arizona. Andy owned and operated Stewarts Tire and Stewart Auto Parts in Battle Mountain. He also worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for Haliburton and Great Basin College, where he retired in 2012.
Andy loved auto racing and was a motorcycle and hunting enthusiast, always ready for the next ride or hunt. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, Ana, Abby, Ashlynn, Madison, Kane, Bradyn and Andrew, whom he loved dearly.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Edward Stewart.
Survived by the love of his life, domestic partner, Crystie Minson, daughters Tanisha (Kip) McAlexander, Rashawna (Matt) Berry and Katashua Stewart, mother Betty Stewart, sisters Wanda (Tom) Broadway and Loretta (Robbie) Sallee as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2 pm in the Civic Center, 625 S. Broad St., Battle Mountain, NV 89820.
