Kathryn Louise Boyd, 72, of Winnemucca, NV passed away in the early morning hours of Friday July 15, 2016 at Humboldt General Hospital.
She was born April 20th 1944 in Belvedere, IL to Mr. And Mrs. Nelson Bates. Kathryn met and married her husband Ernest “Al” Boyd in Longbeach, CA, they had one daughter. After living in Los Angeles, her and her family moved to Imlay, NV in 1974. They later moved to Winnemucca in 1980 and made that their home ever since. She spent most of her years taking care of her home and family. In her later years she did venture out and found herself a job working for Jack in the Box and then at Wal-Mart.
She was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was very active in Curves, loved to cook and garden. She took joy in many crafts, such as crochet and ceramics. Everyone who met her loved her and vice versa.
Kathryn is preceded in death, by her parents Nelson Dewey and Elda May, her sisters Margaret, Arlene, Jeanette and her husband Al. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Kraig Wilson of Winnemucca, sisters Jennifer Strickland of North Carolina and Madeline Bates of Wisconsin, three grandchildren, Ryan of Reno, NV, Samantha of Battle Mountain, NV and Nicholas of Winnemucca, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her.
A small gathering for close friends and family will be planned at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Sonoma Funeral Home.
