Obituary: Curtis Alan Upshaw

Curtis Alan Upshaw was born on October 14, 1962 in Elko, NV. He passed away suddenly from an unexpected illness on January 23, 2016 in Winnemucca, NV.

He, with his family, moved to Winnemucca in 1969, and he attended the local schools. Upon leaving school, he joined the U.S. Navy. After he was discharged from the Navy he entered the mining industry and worked as a crusher mechanic and process maintenance in Lovelock for Core Rochester and Winnemucca for Newmont Mining.

Curtis was an avid Saints fan. His favorite past time was playing video games online with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Christy, five Step-Children, Ryan, Sean, Katie, Austin Luna and Cara (Joel) Bodine and grandson Liam. His parents, Everett (Royse) and Beverly Upshaw and Mary E. and George Zaldain, brothers Mark (Tonya), Rory, Michael (Jackie), Scott Upshaw, Randy Morton (Apryl), David Morton, Terry (Julie) Morton and sister Kaitlyn Morton, Also numerous friends, family, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Ricky Morton and niece Jessica Morton.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Jan. 30, 2016 at 1pm at Sonoma Funeral Home 47 West First Street Winnemucca, NV 775-623-2986.
