The Democratic Party presidential causus is scheduled for February 20, 2016.
The Republican Party presidential caucus is scheduled for February 23, 2016.
The primary election will be held on Flag Day, June 14, 2016.
Election Day traditionally occurs on the first Tuesday that follows the first Monday in the month of November. This year, it will be held on Nov. 8, 2016.
Sadie Sullivan, a clerk for Lander County, shared that more people are expected to register this year than registered last year, and a bigger voter turnout is expected because of the presidential race.
“It is important to exercise our right to vote in this country, to have a say in federal, state, and local governments,” Sullivan said.
Celebrate the right protected by the Constitution this year by registering to vote. You can register in person at the Lander County Clerk’s office, at 50 State Route 305 in Battle Mountain, or online at www.nvsos.gov.
