Obituary: Norma Jean Caumiant

Norma Jean Caumiant passed away on December 5, 2015 in Reno, NV. Jean was born in Speed, Kansas on April 5, 1930 to Earl Ulysses Lavilla Merle Thornton. She married James Dee Caumiant on March 22, 1953 in Colorado. They had 3 children who were all born in Colorado. They moved to Nevada in 1964 and moved around the state while Jim worked on various freeways and roads. In 1970 they built the Vagabond Trailer Park in Winnemucca. They sold it and moved to Reno in 1979.

Jean was a stay-at-home mother and worked at Humboldt General Hospital after her children were grown. After moving to Reno she worked in the catalog department at JC Penny.

Her hobbies included fishing, camping and sewing, needlepoint and crocheting, knitting and spending time in her yard.

Jean is preceded in death by Jim on December 7, 2002. She is survived by 3 children; June & Dave Sexton of Winnemucca, NV, Jim Caumiant of Elko, NV and Julie Caumiant of Carson City, NV. Also 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; Stan & Bethany Sexton with Konrad, Merit and Elyse of Reno; Dustin & Amanda Caumiant with Vaughn, Alivia, Isabella and Dominic of Winnemucca, NV; DJ & Angela Sexton of Winnemucca with Kelsey Kilpack of Elko and Kyandra Jennotte of Las Vegas; Jami (Gary Pollock) Caumiant of Wells with Mackenzie Dockins of Winemucca; and Cody Caumiant of Orovada, NV.

There will be no funeral service at this time. A family memorial will be held in the spring of 2016.
