Obituary: Marilyn Kay Loveseth

On Christmas Day 2015, Marilyn Kay Loveseth (Thomas) passed away peacefully at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California. She was 66 years old.

A devoted mother and grandmother and beloved daughter and sister, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Linnea Thomas and her brother Keith Thomas. She is survived by her daughter Hillie Johnson and family.

Marilyn was raised in Paradise Valley, Nevada, a long time resident of Reno, Nevada, and spent the last three years close to her family in Carmichael, California. In Reno, she devoted over twenty years as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, helping the tiniest of premature infants and their distraught families. Having been the mother of a preemie herself, Marilyn showed exceptional compassion for the parents of her patients, in addition to being an excellent nurse. She retired from nursing in 2013, moved to Carmichael to be closer to her daughter, and happily embraced a full-time role as “Nonie” to her cherished granddaughter, Grace. She was so excited to welcome a second grandchild in May 2016.
