Obituary: Zenaida Imby Cortez Swope

Zenaida Imby Cortez Swope more commonly known as “Z”, passed away in the early morning hours of February 23, 2016.

Z was born November 8, 1959 in Olongapo Philippines to Darrell and Minda Browning. She moved to the United States in 1962 at the age of 3. She grew up all over California before following her brothers to Nevada.

Z was the friendly face that was seen at many local businesses around Winnemucca before getting her CDL and driving long haul for 1.5 years. After that she was hired by Round Mountain Gold Corp to drive haul trucks.

Her favorite thing in life was spending time with family and gathering together for the great food she was known to cook. She loved fishing, camping and traveling.

She is survived by her children, Kisa (Ken) Murrin of Winnemucca, Nevada; Corrisa (Joe) Bamford of Safford, Arizona; Desirae (Will) Swope of Fernley, Nevada; and Joseph Swope of Round Mountain, Nevada. Her grandchildren Aubree Murrin of Aurora, Colorado; Britnee Murrin of Aurora, Colorado, Journey Murrin of Winnemucca, Nevada, and Jesse Murrin of Winnemucca, Nevada; Her father, Darrell Browning of Yerington, Nevada. Brothers, Darrell (Teressa) Browning of Round Mountain, Nevada; Ron (Patty) Browning Tonopah, Nevada; Rick (Caylee) Browning of Elko Nevada and Jimmy (Karen) Browning of Winnemucca, Nevada; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Z was preceded in death by her mother Minda Browning and grandparents Lester and Doris Boyer.

In lieu of flowers the family has set up a donation account at Nevada State Bank, routing number 122400779, account number 5792403007, to help with all the final expenses.

The exceptional care provided by them all is greatly appreciated by her children and was especially appreciated by Z.

The donations and help with the preparations are appreciated by the family and have made all the arrangements more bearable in this difficult time.
