Ozzie was born February 16, 1931, in Pomona, California, the son of Charles and Ester Harris.  He was raised in Pomona and graduated from Pomona High School.  He attended University of California, Berkeley, home of his beloved Cal Bears.  Ozzie played center on the Bears from 1949-1953.  After college Ozzie joined the US Army and was stationed in Korea for 18 months.  At the time of his discharge he was Second Lieutenant.  He worked for McDougal Livestock  (1955-1960), then a sugar beet plant, Delta Dehydrators (1960-1971).  In 1971, he moved to Colorado and became part owner of B & H Sports until the late 70’s.
Ozzie moved to Lovelock in 1982.  He and Adell were married in 1985.  Ozzie and Adell enjoyed the rural lifestyle of Northern Nevada.  For Ozzie, his morning cup of coffee with his friends at the local coffee shop was the perfect start to the day.  Ozzie enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden every summer, growing tomatoes and corn for all the family.  He remained in contact with his football buddies from Cal and attended yearly football games.  He and his teammates called themselves Pappy’s Boys and had regular meetings and get-togethers.  When Ozzie lived in Denver he regularly attended Broncos games and continued to support them over the years.  He was especially pleased to cheer them to a Super Bowl victory.
Ozzie will be deeply missed by his wife Adell, his son Craig and Craig’s wife Laura, his daughters Kathy and Laurie and Laurie’s husband Bruce, his grandchildren Keisha, Katie, Karen, and Colton, and his many great grandchildren,  Adell’s daughters Anne, Cynthia, and Pamela., and  so  many others. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers Walter and Kenneth.
