Obituary: Don Rector

Don Rector formerly of Imlay, NV passed away Nov. 20, 2016 in Tuskahoma, OK. He was 77 years old. Don was a beloved husband, father, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Don was a complex man; having the ability to spin a yarn, leaving one wondering, “Was that really real or …?” None-the-less his stories were entertaining; one of the things that endeared him to us.

He was very opinionated and minced no words letting you know his opinion. If you were his friend, you knew it! If you weren’t, you also knew it! He was also a man of great compassion; often giving his last dollar to someone in need.

Don was also capable of great love. He gave his love unconditionally to his children as well of his stepchildren. But the soft spot of his heart was his grandchildren. They didn’t know the difference between blood and step, he loved them all with all of his heart. His affectionate name for each of them was “bubble butt” and they all answered to it. It is unfortunate that some of his younger grandchildren and great-grandchildren did not experience his love due to his move to Oklahoma in the late 1990’s. But the move did not stop his love for them.

We all loved him and he will be dearly missed. Don is survived by his wife Frances Rector, children Tom Rector (Donna), Mike Rector (Molly), Liz Rector; stepchildren Alicia Craig (Dan), Annetta Simons (Don), Rocky Simpson (Melissa); as well as 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Cards and well wishes for his wife, Francis, can be sent to, Hc64 Box 2970, Tuskahoma, OK. 74574
