Seat F on the Humboldt County School Board was recently vacated when board member Louis Mendiola took a job in Reno. Interviews to fill that vacancy are scheduled earlier on the same day as the school board meeting Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Three individuals will be interviewed — at 1:30 Abe Swensen, at 2:15 Bill Janhunen and at 3 p.m. Chris Entwistle.
The board meeting will begin at 4:30 with public comment, followed by the superintendent's report, then approval of the warrants. Regular agenda items follow:
• Appointment to fill the vacant school board seat
• Kings River, Orovada, Paradise Valley school presentations
• Approval of Malheur County Oregon School District tuition agreement
• Approval of the Lander County tuition agreement
• Budget augment
• Request for release day for staff training on suicide prevention
• Preliminary review of possible summer bond projects
• Consideration of board members to attend the National School Board Conference in Denver, Colorado in March
• Possible dates and times for board retreats and topics for discussion
