Obituary: Douglass C. Boseman

Douglass C. Boseman, 11/09/1944 - 11/15/2016, of Lovelock, Nevada died peacefully at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto, California at 72 years of age. He valiantly fought cancer for an extended time, including his final six months in the VA Hospital undergoing treatments for his cancer.

Douglass attended Clemson University, the Baptist College, and Trident Technical

College with primary studies in Economics, Accounting, Hotel Management, Marketing, International Trade and Finances. He continued his studies through various employment positions in Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Engineering, International Finance, Mineral Extraction Process Engineering, and Oil and Gas Landman requirements.

Douglass proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1965 through 1976. He entered the Marine Corp as an enlisted man and, after passing the College Equivalency Exam, was selected for Officer Candidate’s School in 1966, attaining the rank of Captain as a Naval Flight Officer aboard the McDonnell Douglas Phantom designated as the Marine Fighter F-4 jet aircraft. Mr. Boseman served with combat distinction and valor in Vietnam from June 1969 to June 1970, operating out of the Chu Lai Marine Air Base south of Danang, earning many combat metals.

Since 1989, Douglass has held the position of Chief Executive Officer and President of Fallon Mining Company, Inc. Through his hard work, leadership, and knowledge of chemistry and physics he successfully coordinated the successful development of the corporation.

Douglass is survived by Joyce Meyer, his best friend and long-time business pai1ner, and many friends and business acquaintances from the Modesto area, throughout the United States and in many other countries.

A Service with Military Honors will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA on Friday December 9th, 2016 at 12:30 pm. A Celebration of Douglass’ life will follow at Hotel Mission De Oro, 13070 State Highway 33, Santa Nella CA.
