Nevada Mining Association seeks help from women in mining for industry-wide survey

RENO — The Nevada Mining Association (NvMA) is launching a survey of women in the mining industry in an effort to better understand how to recruit and retain women in mining.

The Women in Mining survey is part of NvMA’s ongoing efforts to ensure Nevada’s mining industry has the strongest workforce possible.

“We work in a data-driven industry, but there is precious little data on the best ways to recruit and help cultivate the careers of women in Nevada’s mining industry,” Nevada Mining Association President Dana Bennett, Ph.D., said. “NvMA is working to change that. In order to better understand the challenges and opportunities for women in mining, we must hear from women in the field, in all areas of mining work. We need broad, honest, participation. I urge women to take a few minutes to take the survey.”
