The office of Nevada’s Attorney General (AG), Adam Paul Laxalt, is planning an early-September tour through Nevada. The tour will visit Battle Mountain, Winnemucca and Lovelock on Sept. 8 and 9. The tour is modeled after Nevada Governor Paul Laxalt’s similar 1968 “Capital for a Day” tour.
“I strongly believe that the closer the government is to the people, the more effectively we can meet their needs. That is why this AG for a Day tour is dedicated to bringing state government directly to the people of Nevada,” Adam Paul Laxalt said.
According to Monica Moazez, Communications Director for the AG, the goal of the tour is to orient the public with what the Attorney General does. There will be representatives from Laxalt’s staff that will present on open government, elder abuse, consumer fraud trends, taxation and local government finance and free legal services for military personnel.
The AG will visit Battle Mountain on Sept. 8 a the Lander County Commissioners Chambers at the Lander County Courthouse at 1:15 p.m. They will visit Winnemucca and Lovelock on Sept. 9, with a 9 a.m. meeting in the Commissioner’s Chambers in the Humboldt County Courthouse; and at 1:15 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers at Pershing County Courthouse.
