Obituary: Levi Abel, Jr.

Levi Abel, Jr, 59, of Fallon, NV passed away on August 15, 2016 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Levi was born on August 22, 1956 at Fort McDermitt, NV to Levi Abel, SR and LaVerne Lossing-Williams. He lived at Fort McDremitt a majority of his life traveling to various locations and finally residing in Fallon, NV where he lived with his sister Estelle Jackson.

He was a ranch hand by trade and also worked for Link Dempsey and Sons installing septic tanks. Levi was a member of the Native American Church. In his off time he enjoyed tanning hides, fan making, bead work and in his younger years he loved to hunt.

Levi is survived by his children Shawn Abel, Jocelyn Abel, Raelynn Abel, Daniel Abel, Quinn Abel, Shlene Abel Thomas Ironeloud and Daliah Abel; his grandchildren Jacob, Caleb, Justice, Ruier, Lily and Jasmine Abel; sisters Estelle Jackson of Fallon, NV, Zelda Lossing of Fort Hall, ID, Jennifer Garfield of Nixon, NV, and LaVerne Gallardo of Owyhee, NV; brothers Clark “Gene”(Volynne) Abel of Fort Hall, ID, and Antonio “Tony” (Erica) Gallardo of Owyhee, NV; Aunt Goldie Tom of McDermitt, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents Levi Abel, SR, and LaVerne Lossing-Williams; son Stuart Abel; sister Lucinda G. Thompson; brothers Steven Abel and Tommy Garfield; grandparents Harvey and Josie Cracker, Charlie and Jessie Abel and his great grandfather Dave Crutcher.

The family would like to thank the staff of Renown Medical Center and Banner Churchill County ER for the care they gave Levi. A special thanks to the community of Fort McDermitt, family and friends; especially his Aunt Goldie Tom.

Services for Levi were held in Fort McDermitt on Friday August 19, 2016.
