Jose Jesus Mendoza, 85, passed away on August 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Winnemucca, NV.
Jose was born on October 22, 1930 in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico to Jose and Rita Mendoza. He was raised in Michoacan and immigrated to the United States with his family twenty two years ago. Jose was married to Maclobia Salas from 1960 to 1964. He married Antonia Mendoza in 1981.
He was a farmer and rancher most of life in Mexico, after moving to the US he went to work as a dishwasher in the food service industry. Jose was a member of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Winnemucca. He loved gardening and in the summer he would plant corn, tomatoes, squash, tomatillos and pumpkins to be shared with his daughters, family and friends.
Jose is survived by his wife Antonia; his children Concha, Chuy, Noelia and Arcelia. He had eleven grandchildren and three great grand children; his sisters Maria, Christina and Liandra.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Rita Mendoza; his brothers Engenio and Jose; his sisters Angelina, Mercedes, Concha,Maclobia and Carmela; his first wife Maclobia Salas and a granddaughter Isela Rivers.
The family would like to publicly thank the following for all the love and care they gave during Joses illness. Ramon and Maria Torres, Jesus and Hilda Mendoza, Elodia and Jose Sanchez, Audel Avila, Flavio and Maria Herera, Sergio and Maria Castaneda, Ana Rubi Hernandez, Eloisa Mendoza, Isabele and Bejamin Castaneda, Humboldt Volenteer Hospice, Genesis, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, RENOWN, and all the family and friends that visited in life and after his death.
Services for Jose were held at Saint paul’s on Tuesday August 23, 2016 with burial at Winnemucca Cemetery.
