Humboldt County's school board will meet this coming Tuesday, Aug. 23, starting at 4:30 p.m.
The agenda includes a report from Superintendent Dave Jensen, approval of the warrants, and discussion, with possible action on:
• A safety plan review from Chukuma Jones, School Resource Officer
• First reading of a policy to allow service animals in the schools
• Update on the Read by Third Grade Grant and statutory requirements
• Possible change to compensation for long-term substitute teachers and teachers waiting on certification clearance
• Review of proposed superintendent goals for 2016-2017 school year
• Consideration of board goals for 2016-2017 school year
Public comment is allowed at the beginning and end of the agenda. School board meetings are held in the school district meeting room, upstairs on the Fourth Street side of Winnemucca Junior High School.
Board member reports will follow public comment.
