Obituary: Hilbert McCool Trujillo

Albert McCool Trujillo passed away June 8th after a long battle with cancer.

Albert was born September 15th, 1952 to Kathleen McCool and Fred Trujillo in Battle Mountain. He spent his childhood in Battle Mountain and at the Rock Creek Ranch. Upon graduating from high school, Albert worked at Duval Mine.

In 1972 he enlisted in the United States Army. He served for 12 years, with the majority of his time stationed in Germany.

After leaving the Army, Albert made his home in El Paso Texas, where he worked various jobs. It was in El Paso that he met Anita Peacock. The couple soon married and had 2 sons, Alan & Michael. The family moved to Las Cruces New Mexico.

Albert and Anita later divorced but always remained close friends.

In 2005 Albert moved back to Nevada and made his home in Reno and Battle Mountain. The last year of his life Albert was surrounded by friends and family.

Albert loved his family, going to church to worship, and making those around him laugh with his many stories.

He is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Robinson, stepfather Loren Robinson, father Fred Trujillo and sister Elizabeth Hiatt.

He is survived by his sons Alan (Brandy) and Michael of Las Cruces, New Mexico, sister Sandra Trujillo of Battle Mountain, brother Robert (Mary Anne) Trujillo of McMurray PA, brother Roger Robinson Garciea (Ernie) of Avondale AZ, nieces Tina Ramey (Brad) of Battle Mountian, Kim Shorey of Battle Mountain, great nephews Stephen, Chance, Trey Luke and Gaven, great niece Lynzee.

Albert is greatly missed, his contagious laughter and bright smile will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 15th at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley Nevada at 1:00 p.m.
