Obituary: Steven K. Day

Steven Day passed away on April 2, 2016 at Humboldt General from complications of pneumonia. He was 69.
Steven was born in Winnemucca June 8, 1946 to Kirk and Rose (Boggio) Day. He attended Winnemucca Grammar School.

Steven loved laughing, playing his favorite records and tapes every day, playing cards, and was an avid train enthusiast! He enjoyed reading and looking at his train magazines and books and DVD’s. He was caring and loved checking in on his family and their pets to make sure all was well.

Steven was very artistic and he colored a lot and made pieces of jewelry art with his devoted caregiver, Angie.

His brother Michael and wife Mary Day of Sparks, NV survive him. His nephew Christopher Day of Huntington Beach, CA, and numerous cousins from the Boggio family of Paradise Valley.

His parents Kirk and Rose Day preceded Steven in death.

The family wishes to acknowledge Angela Alvarez and her family for taking care of Steven. She was devoted to providing him with best care possible. She loved Steven as a son and went above and beyond to maintain his home and manage his medical issues for more than a decade. We are grateful to the Boggio and Bodily families who went out of there way to visit Steven regularly throughout his lifetime. Every visit from them brought Steven joy and added to the quality of his life.

A memorial service for Steven will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Winnemucca, NV, on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Services are under the direction of Sonoma Funeral Home 775-623-2986.
