The Battle Mountain High School baseball team continued its winning ways this past weekend with a three-game sweep of West Wendover. Quinton Defoor picked up the win on Friday afternoon, as the Longhorns beat the Wolverines 15-5 in the fifth inning by the 10-run mercy rule.
Battle Mountain improved to 5-4 in the Division III North with two more wins on Saturday. The Longhorns moved into third place in the league standings. The top four qualify for the regional tournament next month in Lovelock. Pershing County and Yerington are first and second. Battle Mountain hosts Silver Stage on Wednesday, April 20, at 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m.
