Obituary: Patrysha Dianne Ross-Gobrick

Patrysha Dianne Ross-Gobrick was born Dec. 14, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas to John and Pearly Ross. She was one of nine children. Patrysha was one of the first students to integrate into Amarillo High School in 1966, showing true strengths.

She was also an active member for the NAACP, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. After she completed high school she enrolled into the Job Corps based in Omaha, Neb. After completing Job Corps she then enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

Patrysha served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years. During her enlistment she was taken overseas to Nae Makri, Greece. It was there that she met the love of her life Don Gobrick in 1977, later married June 4, 1979.

Patrysha and Don lived happily married for 36 years, with their two children. Patrysha was a kind soul giving to those in need without hesitation, She loved beyond words’ expression. She is an inspiration to us all.

Partysha is preceded in death by her mother Pearly Ross, father John Ross and brother David Ross. Patrysha is survived by Don Gobrick (husband), both children Lshauna Ross-Gobrick (daughter), Devin Ross-Gobrick (son), and beloved daughter in law Anastasia Ross-Gobrick.

She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Andrew, Jazzmyn, Kaydn, Kal-El, Aylah, and Audrii; her sisters Carol, Teresa, Barbara, and Ramona; her brothers Jonathan, Charles, and Terry; beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and all her loving friends.
