Obituary: Joseph Michael Menicucci

Joseph Michael Menicucci was granted his Angel Wings on Sept. 13, 2015 at the young age of 11.  Joseph had touched all our lives in some small and very large ways throughout his short, yet very memorable life.

Joseph’s life was too short; however those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and no matter what he could always make everyone laugh.

Joseph possessed strength, courage, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and challenges. With his strength and courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours reading his favorite books or watching his favorite movies while cuddling close to those he loved. He enjoyed music, working on cars with his dad, riding his bike, playing basketball, and playing outside with family and friends. He loved all colors, but his favorite was pink.

With Joseph’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every hour of every day, especially his big bright eyes and winning  smile. He will forever remain in our hearts and thoughts. Together we all were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents.

Joseph is survived by his loving parents,  Angela and David Menicucci of Fernley Nev.; maternal grandparents Susan and Dave Berish of Winnemucca, Nev.; paternal grandparents Doug and Camilla Menicucci of Imlay, Nev. and Ken and Judy Medeirous of Fallon Nev.; great grandparents Maria  and Leonard Menicucci, great grandma Mildred Nichols,  aunts and uncles Teresa Berish and Christina Berish of Winnemucca; Junior and Michelle Berish of The Dalles, Ore.;  Sophi and Marcos Vasquez of Winnemucca.; great aunt Mary Lou Kobus and great uncle Tom Kobus of Pittsburgh, Penn., cousins Hannah and Andrew Berish of Winnemucca, Kayla,  Ashley, Avery, and Alex Berish of The Dalles, and his beloved pet Buddy.
