The Winnemucca Junior High School seventh-grade girls basketball team is off to a quick start, winning three of its first four games.
The Warriors opened their season in Fernley on Saturday, Aug. 29, and beat Fernley 63-21. Coach Grant Beatty noted that every girl for Winnemucca scored at least four points.
The Warriors closed out the day with a 31-13 win over Fallon,
On Thursday, Sept. 3, Winnemucca traveled Carson City and split two games. The Warriors lost 18-14 to Eagle Valley and beat Carson 33-12.
“They are a super talented group, works hard, very coachable,” Beatty said. “They have a bright future.”
Winnemucca hosts Carson on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Warriors will be back home on Tuesday to play Fallon at 3:30 p.m.
