The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team was at home for the first time this year, hosting the Longhorn Invitational this past weekend. Along with Battle Mountain, Pershing County and West Wendover from the Division III North competed as did Division IV schools Smith Valley, Eureka, Wells, Carlin and Jackpot. The Elko JV also took part in the varsity tournament. The Lady Longhorns open league play on the road Friday against West Wendover at 5 p.m.
