The Battle Mountain High School boys soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a pair of Division III North matches at home.

The Longhorns faced West Wendover on Friday afternoon and lost 4-0 to the Wolverines. West Wendover is currently second in the Division III North at 9-1-1.

Battle Mountain bounced back on Saturday to score a goal in the second half to beat White Pine 2-1. The match was tied at 1-1 after the first 40 minutes of play.

The victory did keep playoff hopes alive for Battle Mountain. The Longhorns finished 3-7-2 in league play and 3-9-2 overall.

Yerington faced Whittell on Tuesday and results were not available at press time.

If Whittell won, Yerington and Battle Mountain would meet in a play-in game with the winner advancing to the Division III state championships in Incline on Nov. 6-7. A win by Yerington and Battle Mountain’s season is over.
