The Winnemucca Junior High School seventh and eighth-grade boys basketball teams have started their season, with games two weeks away.
The Warriors will open their season on Friday, Nov. 6, in Carson City, and stay in western Nevada to play in Fernley on Saturday, Nov. 7. Winnemucca will make its home debut on Tuesday, Nov. 10, against Fallon.
Tri-County play begins on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Lovelock at 9 a.m. Tri-County action moves to Winnemucca on Saturday, Nov. 21
Winnemucca will also have a road game at Fallon on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 3:30 p.m.
The season concludes with Tri-County tournaments in McDermitt on Saturday, Dec. 5, and McDermitt and the Tri-County championship will be in Lovelock on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m.
The eighth-grade team is coached by K.C. Kracaw and includes Brooks Bergenheier, Michael Casalez, Derek Espinoza, Josh Leveille, Max Mavity, Taz Milton, Jordan Parker, Preston Snow, Kobe Stoker, Charles Villa, Shea Brown, Taylor Corak, Klay Gardner, Blake Jauregeu, Cole Jones, Bodi Miller, Michael Yarnell, Jace Mentaberry, Chance Huitt, Dylan Money and Caden Rorex.
The seventh-grade squad is coached by Chad Backus and includes Anthony Gildone, Alex Ruiz, Anthony Hemp, Christian Cuevas, Jacob Solis, Anthony Peterson, Tristan Schmittell, Rian DeLong, Sean Herrera, Joesph Backus, Sam Roth, Hugo Ruiz, Colton VonAspern, Jaden Fetty, Trenton Domire, Daniel Fernandez, Alberto Medina, Ruben Diaz, Kole Mattson and Dylan Lutzow.
