The McDermitt High School volleyball team was supposed to celebrate senior night this past Tuesday, but Round Mountain canceled the match.
The Lady Bulldogs still celebrated their senior night, playing an alumni game against former members of the squad.
The void in the schedule leaves McDermitt without a match for nearly three weeks, before the regional championships take place in at Wooster High School in Reno on Nov. 6-7.
Last weekend, McDermitt went on the road to play its final Division IV East matches of the season. The first stop was Carlin on Friday, Oct. 16, and the Lady Bulldogs beat the Railroaders 25-10, 25-5 and 25-15 to complete the season sweep.
McDermitt made its way up to the Idaho/Nevada border this past Saturday and knocked off Jackpot 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21 to also sweep the Jaguars on the year.
Wells, Owyhee, McDermitt and Eureka are the top four teams in the East Division.
Smith Valley is undefeated in the Division IV West at 13-0 and leads the league. Virginia City, Sage Ridge and Coleville, round out the top four.
