Obituary: Basilio Guerrero

Basilio Guerrero, of San Pedro, Mexico, was taken on October 11, 2015 after a year and a half long battle with brain cancer. Basilio parted in his home alongside his wife, Maria (Lupita) Guerrero, his kids Betsy and Omar Guerrero, his mother Consuelo and his three sisters, Lilia, Consuelo, and Araceli. He was a loving husband and son, a friend to many and never failed to be a tough love kind of dad.

Basilio LOVED playing and watching volleyball whenever he got the chance. He enjoyed family trips to Mexico, many trips to the California coast, and visiting family whenever he got the chance. He also enjoyed great buffets, Pollo Loco and almost anything his wife cooked. Basilio worked at Newmont- Twin Creeks for 20+ years to provide for his family. He wanted the world for his kids and his biggest aspiration was sending them to college given he never had the opportunity.

Basilio’s death has brought sadness to many but we know he is no longer in pain. He’s in heaven experiencing all the wonderful things it has to offer and watching over his family.

The viewing will be from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Sonoma Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2015.

Funeral Services for Basilio will be at the Winnemucca Convention Center (East Hall) Saturday, October 17, at 10:00AM. Basilio will be laid to rest following the service at the Winnemucca Cemetery. There will be food and refreshments after the burial at the Winnemucca Convention Center to celebrate Basilio’s blessed life.

A memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo Bank. Donations can be made to the Basilio Memorial Fund Account # 1029421011.

Services are under the direction of Sonoma Funeral Home, 47 W. First St, Winnemucca, NV. 775-623-2986
