The Battle Mountain High School football team continued its dominance, with a 42-6 win over Yerington on Friday night in Battle Mountain.
The Longhorns celebrated their Homecoming in style, as Gabe Naveran threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns in the rout of the Lions. The sophomore also ran for 39 yards and one touchdown.
Naveran’s favorite target on the night was Miles Pirimide, who had 155 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Mason Fuller also had a touchdown reception to go with a team-high 126 tackles.
Reese Artz had 25 yards receiving and rushed for seven yards, but his big play of the night was a 20-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Peyton Ayers added 18 yards on the ground and 21 receiving, while Ryan Ostler had 62 yards rushing and Bobby Kester 18.
Erik Martinez had 16 tackles on the night, while Mason Chopp joined him in double figures with 11. Ostler had nine tackles, Chris Figueroa and Ayers eight each, Artz seven, Pirimide six, Kester four, Naveran and Jesse Edgar three each and Jose Figueroa, Marcus Jury and Chris Taylor had one tackle each.
Battle Mountain hosts Pershing County Friday at 4:30 p.m.
