Wine, beer, music, appetizers, auctions, desserts and fun are all on the menu as the Winnemucca Chamber of Commerce gets ready to host its 15th annual Harvest Hops and Grapes on Saturday, Oct. 15th at the West Hall of the Convention Center.
The annual event gets underway at 7 p.m. It helps support the Chamber in its mission: supporting local businesses. Local businesses, in turn, donate food, beverages, and silent auction items.
Donations are arriving, and volunteers are giving their time and talent getting ready for the big event, according to Betty Lawrence, who chairs the event.
Lawrence says to expect some wines from Idaho this year. Beer lovers can look forward to products from Great Basin Brewery as well as the El Dorado Brew Bros. Those who don’t partake will be given a ‘designated driver’ soft drink or two on the house, Lawrence adds.
The night will feature guitarist John Ponzo from Reno. Ponzo has an uncanny ability to play songs that are instantly recognizable, yet uniquely his own.
Silent auction prizes will appeal to “the sporty fold, and those who want to kick back and relax,” according to a press release. Past years’ events have seen auction items ranging from Lake Tahoe getaways to unique home items and more.
Tickets cost $35/person, or $245 for a table of eight. The Chamber will accept credit cards, cash or a check. Come by the Chamber office or call (775) 623-2225.
