Danny Marsh Bessey, born May 6, 1947, passed away on August 22, 2015 from complications with pneumonia. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Harold C. and Shirley Marsh Bessey, his brother Michael Bessey, sister in law June Rivers Bessey (Jim) and nephew Cody Hughes. He is survived by his brother James C. Bessey, nieces Joleen Nielsen (Rex), Janell Burke (Mike), Jeanette Hughes, Michon Peel and Michel Carden along with several grand nieces and nephews.
Danny graduated from Pershing County High School in Lovelock, Nevada in 1967 and in 1970 began working as the assistant librarian at the Pershing County Library. He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History. Danny began working for the Defense Intelligence Agency in 1990, where he had received numerous awards for his service, and retired in 2013.
Danny was active in many organizations throughout his life such as the Friends of the Library in Lovelock and St. Agnes Church in Arlington. He was an avid sports fan, often attending baseball games with his friends.
Despite a disability of cerebral palsy, Danny embraced life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, living life to its fullest. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa FL 33607. Services will be held at St. John Baptist Church in Lovelock, Nevada on October 10th at 10:00 a.m.
