Four Buckaroos selected to Division I-A North all-league baseball team

Four members of the Lowry High School baseball team were named to the Division I-A North honorable mention team. The all-league teams are selected by the league’s coaches.

The group of Buckaroos chosen were Mickey Donovan, Colin Doyle, Trey Marriott and Donovan Brumm

Donovan had a batting average of .388, with 33 hits. He scored 16 runs and had 14 RBI and eight doubles. Doyle batted .315 with 29 hits, 16 runs scored, 12 RBI, three doubles and two triples.

Marriott averaged .360 on the season with 27 hits and 21 runs scored. He had 11 RBI and five doubles. Brumm hit .297 with 22 hits, 13 runs scored, 17 RBI, four doubles and one triple

Elko’s Jacob Conklin was named the Player of the Year and Churchill County’s Lester DeBraga was named the Coach of the Year.

The Division I-A North first team was comprised of Fernley’s Kevin Montgomery, Elko’s Kyle Whitted, Garrett Schofield and Benton Wickersham, Churchill County’s Alex Mendez and Joe Pyle, South Tahoe’s Aaron Pfister, Dakota Lynch and Kolby Eymann, Spring Creek’s LJ Achenbach and Mike Smith, Truckee’s Teegan Pado and Sparks’ Matthew Longland.

The second team included Elko’s Brenden Yokum and Devin Kelly, Spring Creek’s John Lydon and Sheldon Wilkinson, Churchill County’s Riley Williams, Brock Uptain, Jack Swisher, Marshall Coverston and Dalton Frank, Fernley’s Gavin Henderson, Sparks; Bruce Hicks and Austin Garrick and South Tahoe’s Garrett Harley.

The honorable mention squad was closed out by Fernley’s Shane Kelso, Zack Burns and Brandon Hlade, Spring Creek’s Christian Greenan and Grant Dixon, Elko’s Cody Nielsen, Weston Warrick, Colten Jorgenson and Dakodah Marin, Churchill County’s Dylan Jabines and Sage Mori, South Tahoe’s Paul Hoefer, River Quinn, William Mori, Sparks’ Alejandro Villegas, Tyler Crow and Travis Dulgar, Truckee’s Cameron Hollabuagh and Dayton’s DJ Baker, Mikey Selmi, Jesse Schmidt and Jaret Reed.

The all-state, first-team was made of Conklin, Mendez, Achenbach, Eymann, Smith and Schofield.

The second team was Montgomery, Whitted, Pfister, Pyle, Lynch, Wickersham and Longland.
