Lamar Elliot Northrup passed away at the age of 66 at his home in Winnemucca, NV on May 18, 2015.

Lamar was born November 13, 1949 at Hoppin Ranch in McDermitt, NV to Ivan and Ruth Northrup.

He was married to Bonnie Grover Northrup for 30 years.

He resided in McDermitt, NV most of his life and later moved to Winnemucca, NV in 1974.

Lamar graduated from McDermitt High School in 1969. He was the Co- Captain of the football team and a member of the Club M. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a sheriff’s deputy for Humboldt County for 17 years and Tribal police in Lovelock, NV. He later worked for Winnemucca Farms and Star Security. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Lamar enjoyed watching Lowry High School football and basketball, baseball; horseback riding and was a peacock breeder. He also enjoyed attending the rodeo.

Lamar was survived by his wife Bonnie Grover Northrup. Stepchildren: Vikki, Rhonda, Pamela and Robin. He had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His Brothers: Clifford Northrup from McDermitt and Carlos “Carneige” Northrup from Warm Springs Oregon. His Sisters: Dora Northrup Newman from San Carlos, Arizona, Eloise Beecher from Flagstaff, Arizona, Pansy Northrup from Winnemucca, NV and Stella Northrup from Winnemucca, NV.

Lamar was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Ivan Northrup, his brother; Roger Ermon Northrup and sisters; Rhoda A.N. Ceballos and Rita Stewart.

Lamar touched so many people and will be missed very much.

Services for Lamar will be held Friday May 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the McDermitt Tribal Gym. Burial will be held at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley Nevada at a later Date.
