Vernice Deloris Hansen (nee Payton), a long-time resident of Lovelock, Nevada, died peacefully at her group home in Phoenix, Arizona on May 10, 2015 at the age of 88.
Vernice was born on January 29, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Mac and Lottie Payton. She married Greg Hansen in 1951. They had four children during their marriage. In 1981 they moved to Lovelock, Nevada where they owned and managed the Lovelock Inn. After their divorce in 1989, Vernice continued to own and manage the Lovelock Inn until September, 2010.
Vernice is survived by her children: Kurt (Colorado), Clark, Jeanine Hill and Cherie Geffert (Arizona); her grandchildren: Spencer and Darrin (Jeanine), Derek and Bryce (Clark); her great grandchildren: Olivia and Alexander (Spencer); her siblings: Don and John.Funeral and burial services were held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.
