Obituary: Irma ‘Beth’ (Morrall) Bodily

Irma “Beth” (Morrall) Bodily, 92, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 surrounded by family at her home.

Born on February 17, 1923 in Winnemucca, Nevada to Irma Genevieve and Richard Oliver Morrall, Beth graduated from Humboldt County High School in 1941 and attended the University of Idaho where she met and married Edwin W. Bodily with whom she shared 70 ½ years of marriage.

Beth’s grandfather, C.B. Brown started the business which to this day bears his name and remains in the family, and together Beth and Ed owned, operated, and developed this business as well as Bodily’s Furniture in Elko until Ed’s passing in 2013.

Beth was very active and devoted to the United Methodist Church throughout her life, was a member of Silver State Chapter #6 Order of Eastern Star, Chapter L, P.E.O, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, a 4-H leader, Cub Scout leader, and passionately devoted to her family. “Grams”, “GG”, “Mom” - as she was called by the three generations who survive her, is a cherished legend of grace, dedication, and unfaltering faith and will remain an inspiration to all.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents and siblings and her loving husband of 70 years, Edwin Bodily. She is survived by her son Kenton (Marilyn) Bodily of Gig Harbor, WA, daughters Myrna Gallian and Arlene Myers of Winnemucca, and Jeannie (Ed) Gillins of Elko; nine grandchildren: Jeff Garijo, Megan Garijo Pruitt, Katie Garijo, Danny Gillins, Scott Gillins, K.C. Bodily, Melissa Bodily Erwin, Sadie Myers Miller, Annie Myers Schild, and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Beth Bodily will be held Thursday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winnemucca. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in her name to her beloved United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, 138 W. Winnemucca Boulevard, Winnemucca, NV 89445.
